Paint Color Code(s) The paint code generally consists of either two pair of 2-digit numbers or a 2-digit number and a letter. The first 2-digit number designates the lower body color and the second 2-digit number designates the upper body color. In the case of a convertible or a Chevelle with a vinyl top, the second 2-digit number is replaced with a letter to indicate the color of the top. The 'color' listed is the Chevrolet sales name and may vary with the same color for a Canadian Chevelle. Internally Chevrolet used simple names like light blue, dark blue, red, etc. Code | Color | 10 | Classic White | 14 | Cortez Silver | 17 | Shadow Gray | 19 | Tuxedo Black | 25 | Astro Blue | 28 | Fathom Blue | 34 | Misty Turquoise | 45 | Green Mist | 48 | Forest Green | 50 | Gobi Beige | 55 | Champagne Gold | 58 | Autumn Gold | 63 | Desert Sand | 75 | Cranberry Red | 78 | Black Cherry | (blank) | Special Paint (Arlington) | - - | Special paint (Baltimore, Kansas City) | | It is not known how Atlanta and Flint handled special paint. | 3 and 5 digit number | See this page for specifics | Two Tone | Lower / Upper | 51 53 | Dusk Blue / Glacier Blue | 53 50 | Glacier Blue / Dover White | 53 51 | Glacier Blue / Dusk Blue | 55 50 | Azure Turquoise / Dover White | 61 63 | Burnished Brown / Champagne | 65 50 | Olympic Gold / Dover White | Letter | Convertible Top Color | A | White | B | Black | Letter | Vinyl Top Color | A | White | B | Black | C | Dark Blue | G | Dark Green | H | Dark Gold |
