1964 Acadian - Beaumont/Canso
Any comments/corrections/additions please send them to me and be sure to specify "1964 Beaumont" in the subject line.
The Acadian nameplate is kind of convoluted. The nameplate was to be introduced in Canada based on the Corvair platform but was moved to the Chevy II/Nova platform in 1962 where it remained through the 1963 model year.
In 1964 the Acadian nameplate was moved to the Chevelle and Chevy II/Nova lineup with the Chevelle version getting the Beaumont, Beaumont Custom, and Beaumont Sport Deluxe models much like the Chevelle 300, Malibu, and Malibu SS models in the U.S. The Chevy II/Nova lineup got the name Canso and Invader. Both the Beaumont (Chevelle) and Canso (Chevy II/Nova) retained the Acadian nameplate.
